The 2025 Pennsylvania Straw Poll, conducted at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference (PLC), gathered 267 verified ballots from attendees across eight states and territories. The poll captured insights into voter demographics, political ideology, and key policy concerns. Respondents identified top issues in Pennsylvania as abortion/right to life, gun laws, and Title IX protections, while national priorities included right to life, Federal Reserve policy, and healthcare reform.
Participants rated various political figures, with President Donald Trump (4.56) and State Treasurer Stacy Garrity (4.47) receiving the highest approval scores. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and the state’s Supreme Court received the lowest marks. On forward-looking topics, 41.1% of respondents selected Stacy Garrity as their preferred candidate for the 2026 governor’s race.
The poll also gauged opinions on controversial issues like sanctuary city funding, presidential term limits, and federal employment policies, reflecting strong conservative sentiment. Attendees overwhelmingly supported a tougher federal stance on sanctuary policies and executive authority. The results offer a snapshot of grassroots priorities and approval levels, providing valuable insight ahead of the 2026 elections. The next PLC is scheduled for April 9–11, 2026.
